Matt Baker, PA-C

Matthew Baker started working in family medicine in 2016 and transitioned to working at Mission Family Medicine from Halifax Health New Smyrna Beach Family Practice in late 2022. 

Matt has held the position of clinical assistant professor through the FSU College of Medicine since 2018 and continues to precept students during clinical rotations.

He attended the University of Florida receiving a Bachelors degree from the College of Health and Human Performance. After gaining further experience working as an EMT, Matthew attended South University and graduated with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.  He has also gained experience working in gastroenterology and dermatological services. 

Matt strongly believes in shared patient decision making. He passionately desires to educate and challenge patients in effort to help them feel engaged and comfortable while making informed decisions. He takes a personalized approach and strives to practice evidence based medicine while treating patients as individuals and working to  identify actions that could potentially prevent or delay illness as they age. 

Matt and his wife Rachel are privileged to be raising their 4 children and excited to care for our local community. He has over 15 years of experience serving at their church in roles including youth leader and elder and has also been able to participate in multiple medical mission trips to Central and South America.
